will build a motor car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the
family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed
of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs
that modern engineering can devise. But it will be so low in price that no man
making a good salary will be unable to own -- and enjoy with his family the blessings
of hours of pleasure in God's great open spaces." Henry
Ford, 1907 |
Henry
Ford was the American founder of the Ford Motor Company and father of
modern assembly lines used in mass production. His introduction of the
Model T automobile revolutionized transportation and American industry.

us as we help Palestine celebrate the 74th Annual Texas Dogwood Trails Celebration.
Come see the abundance of Dogwood Blooms (determined by the weather?) among the
rolling hills of East Texas. Friday:
We will travel over mostly county and FM roads for about a 130 mile drive to Palestine.
Along the way we'll stop for lunch in Seven Points. If time allows, we may have
a special stop just outside Palestine, or you may have time to enjoy some of the
Historic Downtown & Old Town Palestine festivities. That evening we will have
a catered dinner in the hotel. Saturday:
After a hotel breakfast we will drive up and down the hilly Davey Dogwood Park.
Then we will head along a tree lined scenic route to Frankston for lunch. We are
tentatively planning a side trip while in the area. The route back to Palestine
will be a different scenic route. Dinner and banquet that eveing will be at Ryan's. Sunday:
Getting an early start after breakfast at the hotel, we will head back home. Lunch
will be in Mabank. Since
I am a rookie (never completed a tour and never been Chairman) I thought it wise
to have a co-chair. Nothing is better than having another rookie help with the
planning. So, expect the unexpected! Larry Register
