MEN'S
NIGHT OUT • February 14th | | Taking
Nolan’s advice, Jimmy has arranged for the guys to get away from the garage for
February and meet at the historic Pump House at White Rock Lake. There is an elevator
available to get to the downstairs conference room where there will be snacks
and drinks. Directions: From Garland Road turn north on Winstead (the only way
you can turn); From Winstead turn right (northeast) on White Rock Road. White
Rock Road makes a sharp turn right and follow the road under the railroad trussell.
Park in the parking lot across from the White Rock Pump Station. | | | It
was a nice turn out for Men’s Night Out this month. Even though it was not at
a member’s house. This month was hosted at the historical White Rock Pump House.
Though there was no “Model T” paraphernalia around but we still had a great time
reminiscing and telling “T” stories. Everyone was delighted to take the tour of
the pump house and hear the rich history of how the facility affected Dallas’
early water demands. Many members have seen the pump house all there lives but
have never been inside. This was their opportunity. | | There
where quite a few old photos of “the good old days” and how the pump station ran
on coal delivered by rail. The food was good but the tour and camaraderie was
better. This MNO was a little weak on T history but very rich in Dallas history
and it still gave us all a chance to get together and learn something. Even if
it was not about T’s. | |
