Richardson Christmas Parade

On a beautiful, brisk December morning three Model T’s and two Model A’s participated in the Annual Richardson Christmas Parade. Our club participation is organized by Ted Dumas and he accepted the award and then passed it on to Mitch Owen for “Best Decorated Vehicles” at the Christmas Dinner Meeting.

Now, let’s mention that only one of the five vehicles actually had any type of decoration, and
should not have been awarded. . . so I believe it was given not for the actual decorations, but because we are such a great looking group!

This is a fun parade, the crowd loves the cars and they yell questions to us: “What Year?”, “Do you have a heater?”, “How fast can you go?” and then the endless statements: “Look at the cute cars”, “Oh the RED ONE is sooooo pretty”, but the best statement this year at the end of the parade, “Look at the old fashion people!” Hope y’all can join us next year.

Dinner Meeting and Annual Awards

Club members once again enjoyed a wonderful dinner and entertainment at our December Meeting, along with the installation of the 2007 Officers. A big THANK YOU to this years hosts Renée and Terry who did a wonderful job.
Dan Gibson (photo left) provided the entertainment of “storytelling” including one little ditty that included
our very own Wally. Who knew he had long black curly locks and rode bareback on a horse. . .and then of course the Scotsman song.

Following dinner President Tommy Griffin conducted a short business meeting which included handing certificates to committee chairs thanking them for their service to the club.

Highlight of these awards was the Outstanding Service Award presented to Hugo Richter. Congratulations to Hugo pictured above at right.

Installation of the 2007 Officers was conducted by Andy Anderson.

Men's Night Out
Recap & Photos by Mitch

Men’s Night Out for December ’06 was hosted at the home of Drew & Amy W. Amy whipped up some really delicious chili and other snacks, which we washed down with some super cold Fat Tire beverages.

All 30 attendees got a good look at some of Drew’s projects and really cool antique tools like his lathe, micrometer, wrenches, etc. Drew has a garage full of Model T parts highly organized that would put Lang’s or Snyder's to shame. We even caught our new President trying to abscond with a NOS oil re-direction axle spring that didn’t quite fit in his shirt pocket. Nolan Renfro held center court while telling some of his jokes, as he was explaining how many of Drew’s parts & tools worked.
