T's parked in front of the historic courthouse in the Waxahachie Square. This tour was at the same time as the Waxahachie Gingerbread Trail Celebration with our members receiving free tickets to tour homes and also spending time at the park with the arts and crafts vendors and all the fun of the festival.

Nine Model T’s, drivers, passengers and well-wishers met at Barbec’s on Sunday, June 5th to start the 7th Annual Tour to Waxahachie. Well-wishers included Royce and Ann, Prestley and Jay Klehfoth who was in town for the weekend. It was wonderful to meet the man who oversees the publishing of the National Vintage Ford Magazine. Those of us who enjoyed breakfast had to do so inside this year. It was blowing and pouring rain during breakfast, but by 8:30 it had stopped, the roads were drying out as we loaded up and head south.

We had an uneventful trip, no flat tires or breakdowns. Once parked on the square there was one person who did, FINALLY, change the tube on his right front tire. We went our separate ways, some touring homes, some roaming the antique stores, some going to the craft fair.

After meeting back at the courthouse we left in two groups for Braum’s. . .the little ice cream shop on the square is gone! We regrouped there and headed ‘em north. We were delayed by a stalled train coming into Dallas, but our tour host guided us around this obstacle and we headed in our different directions for home.

Thank you to Andy and Juanita for once again leading this wonderful day trip. We are looking forward to beer biscuits and the trip to Waxahachie again next year.

Men's Night Out

JuneMNO2.jpg (13612 bytes)

What an enjoyable evening at Gary & Suzy's home. The food was great and the men were OK too! I think the "girls" were somewhere around; in the house! Ha Ha! We had a new member show up for his first MNO, Glen and we all had a great time visiting and hearing the many stories. Sam also attended and we were glad to see him. Several recently recovering members were present (with doctors approval of course); Wally and Nolan most notably. Gary's 1911 Torpedo is almost complete and ready for our next tour. What a beautiful car; it is a great addition to our family of Model T's.
