Men's Night Out

Men’s night out at George's was great. Great was the turnout, thirty at my last count. Great with the different Models of old cars George has at this location, Thunderbird, Corvair, Oldsmobile, Studebaker, Model A and of course a Ford Model T. The Greatest for last, the grilled hot dogs and buns followed by an evening of socializing and story swapping. I caught a few men slipping next door to the Sonic for a dessert. Where they had the room, I will never know. Thanks George for a Great MNO. I still need hosts for MNO in July and December.

OK! What are y'all doing back there?
By now hopefully you have seen, or have at least heard about the Depot Hack that has been built as the first project of Stone Soup. Being wood, the guys got to stain it, but it is still lacking fenders, so the paint for it is on hold. But there is a member that stepped up and requested that his car be used as an example of how to prep and paint a car. A very inexpensive, but quality minded paint booth was constructed at Mitch’s. On April 17 the sanding and priming began. April 23 will have more sanding and priming, possibly some painting. If you are interested in learning how this process works, plan to come by the shop and check it out. The guys (and gals) normally start about 9:00 am on Saturday mornings. Email updates are sent out on Thursday or Friday as reminders. If you have any questions or need directions, call Mitch or Vic.

First Stroll of the Year!
In conjunction with the North Dallas/Richardson Junior Leaque Parade of Homes.

Many thanks to Terry & Renée for arranging a wonderful first stroll of the year. The weather was perfect, as you can see from the trees in the background, spring was in the air. We enjoyed a light breakfast and then walked to the first home. The first “home” we toured was more of a museum, belonging to a “Mad Hatter” and member of the Richardson Junior League, who was one of the sponsors of the Home Tours.

We spent over an hour exploring the three story home, and listening to the stories by the homeowner herself. We did all learn that her favorite color is purple! We then strolled through North Dallas neighborhoods, seeing all the beautiful flowers in bloom, to the second home which we toured as a group. Then we were on our own. There were four more houses that we were invited to tour.
